Dr Thornett is a font of knowledge with so much care I recommend highly for any illness, injury or pain With total dedication to getting you up and running with the right prescription after a short walk across the road to Blackwood chemist you will be on the road to recovery in no time Is only a shame that the telephone system is a little in the dark age but if you are genuinely poorly then keep on calling till you get through! My personal record after a bank holiday was 78 attempts in half an hour, and then was so disappointed to find out there was no appointments left

In such difficult times for GPs in general I think when feeling good about the NHS Doctors we should be giving them some praise after all they get so much negativity so; My recent experience at Blackwood Health Centre is all good, I got an appointment on the day, to see the doctor of my choice, all the staff were friendly helpful and efficient with smiley faces. I saw the senior doctor who listened to my problem, after a thorough examination the doctor suggested a treatment plan with a review in one months time, I was very happy with the proposed plan and very happy to return in a months time to review the problem as suggested by the doctor who added any problems before the review date please do not hesitate to contact me and I will see you at any time. The doctor was very patient, kind, understanding and most professional. This doctor goes the extra mile for his patients at all times.In addition to the excellent doctors, nurses and reception staff the Health Centre is efficient well run and up to date with all aspects of health care. Please keep up the good work you all do.
And they don't deserve that.Came out to see my mom on Thursday Ist March said she needed urgent bloods.When rang surgery informed because snow district nurses couldn't get out till Monday.When rang district nurses said this not true as were going out to urgent cases.Rang surgery back to be informed my mom urgency had been classed as urgent for Monday and they were not changing it.Well just to let you know mom didn't need the bloods taken on Monday because she died.The doctor they sent out onThurday wanted her to have oral antibiotics when she couldn't swallow and been sick.Listen to her chest with a stethoscope without taking her dressing gown of and informed me my mom had a slight chest infection.My mom had pneumonia.At a later date I might take this practice to the medical Council as I feel I have a strong case against them for negligence.
